I tried to continue work in the area of Maine Locomotive and machine. First, I tried to remove material from Phantom Crossing, only to discover either a piece of ledge or a rock the size of the Kubota. So, I routed the ditch around it a little deeper than before.. And cleaned the ditch as far south as I could, reaching from the top of the bank. I really needed the tip car. Next weekend maybe..

Then I headed south, removing a log and half dozen ties from the ditches, and storing them at ML&M.
Then I tried to lower the pipe in the driveway at ML&M. I wanted deeper, but stopped when I found erosion cloth. Cleaned it off and set the culvert on it. I dropped it about 4 inches.
First, I dug next to it, and removed most of the gravel from the top.

Then shoved it to the side, without crushing the pipe. It was at this point here, if you could see the sky, that you knew I was going to get wet..

So, I took shelter in my truck as the thunder passed by. After 20 minutes it had let up, so I put on my rain gear and started again. Well, I wish I would have seen the radar. Because after about 15 minutes it stopped raining and started pouring..
But I stayed after it, and by the time the sun came out, I was finished..and was able to see how well the lower culvert worked, draining north of the crossing. A definate improvement.

And, sometimes having a small machine comes in handy for getting around some obstacles.. I had been out on the bank above the switch to ML&M and cleaned up a couple piles and some debris.
