I just heard from Santa and Mrs. Claus and they wanted me to express their elation at being able to participate in VC '25. They said that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They also asked that I extend their heartfelt wish for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the entire WW&F family and their guests for making the event so special.

I would expect a smaller showing than normal due to the holiday.

Steve,

I read your message and enjoyed how you passed along the greetings from Santa & Mrs. Claus. One of the most traditional and looked for moments for the kids, a memory they will always recall and pass along to their own children one day.

The Victorian Christmas program is very well done and all involved deserve a steaming mug of hot chocolate and a chunk of fruit cake for their efforts. I'm sure Nancy and crew were there to do just that. Congratulations all for the great job. Merry Christmas to all.

Work done on Saturday Dec 27:

* Loco 11: Earl was working on machining a casting.
* Snow: Dan led a crew out on the line in the morning to clear the line of snow (Alna got about a foot), then worked on clearing the yard in the afternoon.

 When I arrived at the shop around 9am the outside temperature was a balmy 9 degrees and the Sun never made an appearance until mid-afternoon. A bit of a wind too. In these conditions the track crew boarded the train and cleared out the line, which was buried in a 12 inch+ mix of powder and hard crust, stopping at every crossing to chisel out the flangeways and spread salt. It's days like that when "Workin' on the Railroad" reaches a whole new level of dedication.  A great big Well Done to Dan and his crew!

 Dec.27th plow train. No. 52 idles at Sheepscot with 554 pressed into service as the crew car.  The crew meeting is in progress around the machine shop stove and they'll be heading up the line shortly.
