Anticipated work for weekend of July 18:

* Mowing - Mike's got ROWMOW 1 all fixed up, so I think he'd like to do some mowing.  Probably in the morning before the first train.
* Loco 9
* Car barn - roofing work
* Shingle mill repair work

No mowing in the morning unless it is dry. No dew. I am also planning to grade where the new 3 way will be going in the North yard, as well as finish around the section house. And if time permits, there is a phone line to try and bury.

Well if Mike doesn't need the track first thing in the morning, then I'd like to run a quick & dirty track crew.  There's a number of really low joints from the bottom of the ladder to Albee's Crossing that I'd like to lift and hand tamp, until someone can get out there with the tamper (and some ballast) to do a proper job.  We have to leave before 8 AM.  Let me know if interested.

I meant to comment to somebody about the dip at the bottom of the ladder when I was there last.
While it was exciting, that kind of excitement I think we can best do without.

Even if I do go James, we can still work around each other. But would rather mow when dry

Theres also some elevation dips north of Albees that need some attention as well.

Work done on Saturday July 10 (and notes from prior week):

* Percival house: During the week, Josh replaced the house's electric junction box.  Now it looks much neater and has plenty of room for expansion.
* Car barn: Work continued on the roof, putting up the 2x4s for the roof.
* Track work: Bill and I jacked and hand tamped the "elevation dip" at the bottom of the Ladder.  Now it's much better, but still needs a pass from Big Joe.  Now I remember why I don't like hand tamping anymore.  We'd have done more if there were more people to help.
* Shop work: Stewart got the saw mill main belt rod off the floor and mounted from the ceiling, and cleaned up some other equipment.  Mike and Stewart took a look at the Continental, drained the gas from the tank, then removed the tank and the hood.  The tank sounds rather full of sludge.
* Grading: Mike did some grading for the future track and switch for the car barn and Woods track.
* Phone line burial: Mike buried the phone line to past the water tank.
* #9: Marcel continued working on the cab supports.

Dave B and HWMNBM trimmed Trask Crossing today.

More on the Continental. I also borrowed a 6volt battery to test crank it. The water pump sounds a little squeaky, but there is no coolant in it which could be why.

I would like to retrieve 2 rails from the pile at Albee's for use as the first rails toward the woods track and car barn. I plan on putting a ramp there to load the excavator up to go north in a couple weeks.

Also, expecting a new toy later this week. Details to follow. Should make my grading efforts much quicker...

With all the bull thrown around the railroad, you need a dozer to move it.

Ira, It's not all BULL at the museum, there's a lot of exciting going on as you know. Hope to see you later this year.
