There is a story to it, but yes. A local mill we use for this type of wood was used. The wood originated out west and was shipped east in 3'x 3' x what ever length, and cut to dimension at their saw mill.

I believe that the lumber vendor/origin of the wood those beams were milled from was covered in the September 2020 WW&F Newsletter, in the article by Eric Shade, titled "After a Pandemic Pause, Coach No. 9 Work Proceeds", pages 3-4.

Marcel and Zack were working on the side sills. Tennons are done on the ends.



With the mortices marked out, ready for drilling.
