 Having been a member of the FR Society since 2000,and a fan since the 70's, I would have preferred a  structure that was more complimentary of the surroundings. Stone or wood construction would have been much more of an example of the WHR or L&NW structures in the immediate area. Just my opinion ,no matter .......

 I agree ,he said coming from left field ,which happens to be in New Jersey. If you've decided on how to paint the future roundhouse..then the carbarn should be the same. Thank you...I retreating to left field .................

I'm coming from left field here, but plastic ties are relatively new and the life expectancy is yet to be determined. much like concrete ties, it is such a new technology that we don't know how long they will last , until they don't. But, wood properly ballasted ,with proper drainage, will last at least thirty years, far more longer than I will.
