Folks,
Would not the bolts in the trucks be square heads in the old days? Those hex heads appear too modern to me!

I hope the new trucks for #9 would be historically correct! Jackson & Sharp did build good narrow gauge trucks since there are still so many around.

The 1904 J&S truck drawings we are using show hex headed bolts.

Thanks

Ted
I made some comments on the December 28 Work Reports About square/hex nuts.

Jason has definitively answered.

That is pretty slick --  making a reverse bend with just a peg and a hammer!  8)

Saturday, May 13th photo, showing the installed reservoir tank and Eames vacuum pot (EVP), as described by Jason Lamontagne in the May/June WW&F Newsletter.  The system is undergoing pressure testing, and I understand, is performing well.

Close up view, showing the reservoir in the lower portion of the photo, and the EVP in the upper portion

Today's (June 24th) views.

I understand a vacuum brake system test is currently underway, based on seeing this gauge.

While son Carlos was busy as brakeman on today's class 2 trains, dad Jerry Steinke was busy with the transfer of the two trucks from shop bay 2 to shop bay 1, to make room for the Build 11 project.  Some modifications are needed to adjust the trucks following a test fitting under W&Q coach No. 3.

Jason Lamontagne (right) was testing the braking force of the vacuum system today on one of the J&S trucks with assistance by Brendan Barry (kneeling) and Joseph Gilbert.  The results were most satisfactory, I understand.

Truck swap.  I understand one of the rebuilt J&S trucks were installed under coach No. 3, and the freed No. 3 truck was pulled into the shop for the installation of vacuum brake equipment.

Coach No. 3 truck inside shop bay 2.

And the rebuilt J&S truck under coach No. 3 in car barn 2.
