I must be missing something.  When I saw the first post I looked on the WW&F Facebook site and could not find a pix of the seats.  After reading this post and looking at the picture on the forum I went back to the Facebook site and still, no pix of the seats.
What am I missing?

Stewart only posted that photo to a few groups; but not the main WW&F Facebook page. I don't know why he choose to do that - maybe he is planning a bigger post on Coach 9 later this weekend.

Here's a curveball question, I know there was discussion about a heater for the car for which one was obtained.  Where is it going to go and have we started making patterns of the pieces so that we can make more for other cars in our fleet or are we reconsidering steam heat?  Sorry, a lot to digest there.

The seats appear to be covered with mohair. It comes from a special breed of goats in Turkey. Today is is mainly used in theatres and concert halls.             TM WW&F Life Member #9 Contributor

The seat bottoms sit on oak runners which slide on the cast iron frames. A very clever mechanism causes the seat bottom to change its angle as the backrest is moved to face the other end. This keeps the seat angled high in the front edge making it more comfortable. The old seat runners were not well shaped and they caused excessive wear and chipping. Harold redesigned them and sent a drawing to the coach shop. We also sent them and old seat. I guess they were confused by our instructions so made the runners to the old design.

Its not a big problem, today we removed the old runners and Harold has already made half of the new. We will stain and varnish the runners and install the new ones in the next couple weeks.

I don't know how the selection of the color was made, maybe Eric does. The old material is badly faded so its hard to go by that.  The carriage shop owner told me  that no more of that fabric will be made. He said there is enough in the supply chain for another coach but if we ever expect to do another we should buy the material now and put it in storage. I'm sure this will require some discussion.

We are not planning to include a heater. The one available is much to big and not really suitable. We have made a bench seat for the space where a heater might go. For the few days a year a heater would be useful it would take up a big bit of seating space all year, and require another hole in the roof.

Can the coach heater be used somewhere else like another station or gift shop?  Also if the mohair fabric is no longer being produced then it would be sound practice to buy up as much as possible as we know we will need it for the rest of the fleet and future builds.  I and others would be willing to contribute to that purchase or if we have extra funds from the annual fund to redirect to that effort.  Of course that is a BOD decision (hint hint).
