10 + 11 = 21: WW&F needs 2 New Boilers

Great to see needed boiler parts at WW&F sans an expensive semi fee!
Wonder if anybody there is really ready to 'get on it', as a former boss used to say.

The dome lid blanks appear to be rather thick.  I assume they are going to be machined into a dish shape.

Folks,
        Now that the boiler sheets have been rolled with they be shipped to the Boothbay Shop or will all the rest of the work on #10 boiler be done in the WW&F Railway Shop?

That new flanging machine is really something!

The boiler components are at Sheepscot for some minor prep work by our shop, after which the drums will be delivered to Boothbay personnel to have their long seams welded.  These and the two interior firebox seams are the only welded joints in the entirety of both boilers.  The heads and wrappers will remain at sheepscot for flanging operations.  Riveting will commence in sheepscot shops under Boothbay direction following these steps.

Meanwhile...

Number 10's boiler barrel is in the process of having its long seam welded at Boothbay Railway Village.
Back at Sheepscot, flanging has been underway for some time. At this point, the door sheet and rear tube sheet are complete, the front tube sheet is essentially complete, and the backhead is midway towards completion. The last sheet to flange for Number 10's boiler is the throat sheet. Work will begin on the throat sheet shortly.
