Lancaster County, PA is certainly the place to look! Not only is there the large Amish and Mennonite community still using horse power, but one of the best regarded of the old blacksmith's toolmakers, the Champion Blower & Forge Co., was located in Lancaster.

The Weather Wiz must've noticed our unbalanced winter scene across the country. NM has gotten a couple moderate snows and cold fronts this week, with more on the way through the weekend. Our mountain snowpack that provides spring agricultural runoff was melting, will get continuing replenishment.
Hope Wiz's New England snow snit  has calmed down, will go after us next.  ;)

Work done Saturday Feb 28:

* Percival basement - Dwight put spray foam in the cracks of the styrofoam boards that were put up last week.  Zack was busy working on something too, relating to the bathroom downstairs.
* Snow - Mike did some additional work on the Kubota and then used it to move snow.
* #9 - More efforts at making a shiny, reflective jacket for the loco.  Started with four people on sanders with heavy grit, moving down to progressively less grit until it was just Brendan on a buffing machine.  The final effort resulted in a decent reflective shine.  Greg and Brendan then started on the next sheet.  Fred kept busy shuttling back and forth between the Museum and Ames True Value.
* Archives - Linda did some work there.

WW&F's Busy Bee Brigade gets the attendance award this weekend.  :D
2926 Saturday Abq work cancelled due to snow.
C&TS Chama yard deserted due to lots of snow.

Basement looks bigger,cleaner  than I imagined.

The basement wasn't very clean when we started.  Having a full cement floor really helps.

Currently, the intent is that the basement becomes a kitchen and dining area for the volunteers.  Maybe even a bunking area.  Offices will go elsewhere.

The second celler view shows the west side of the celler. There is just as much space to the right of the photo.

Plans call for a ceiling after the electrican does his work.

At present there are about 4 steps leading down to the celler from outdoors.
