Slip Coaches
« on: July 28, 2013, 05:37:15 PM »
Looking at photos taken at the Great Western Railway STEAM museum in Swindon I rediscovered these two about slip coaches:

Hey, how about using a slip coach on the WW&F!!

No. 10 could run straight to End of Track with Excursion Car 103 and Coach 3 for the folks in a hurry to see that, while Coach 8 could be the slip coach, rolling to a leisurely stop at Alna Center for those wishing more time to enjoy the pastoral atmosphere there.

I nominate Fred Morse as slip coach brakeman and Steve Zuppa as cutter bar puller on the hind end of Coach 3.

The more I think of it, the better the idea seems. It could be a video event for YouTube! ;D

Alna Center station is on a substantial upgrade northbound. Your idea would work well southbound, however! :D

You surprised me, John. Thought somebody would ask what about the safety chains.
