The tree we cut down was the last tree that had to be removed behind the section house. The tree was mostly dead. as it was only 20 feet from the building we put it across the track. The live limb broke the fall and no damage was done. Srewart and Mike made a few trips with the little flat car to pick up the pieces. They also spent the morning cleaning up the wood cut earlier where the track is to be laid. Stewart will be nice and warm next winter. Were cutting very slow in that area as we don't want it to look barren, however its easily to cut them now then after buildings and track are in place.

Hi Fred,  It was J.B. and I that hauled two good sized loads of wood on the push car. Good thing we were within the Yard Limit since we didn't have a waybill for the freight. The area between the spur and mainline looks a lot better now.

After lunch, Zack and I ran the new restroom water feed line through the cellar of the Percival house.  Zack installed a new filter unit where the line goes out of the cellar.

Looks like the opportunity for more "plow train" videos is in the offing.  (wishful thinking)

This week -

#9 - Jason and Jonathan worked on the driving boxes. Jonathan spent two days in the shop due to the number of set-ups required

Crane car - Mike worked on the counter weight assembly (see report on crane car thread)

Restrooms - Steve hung the interior doors and installed the trim.  He painted top coat on the doors and woodwork

Generator - Stewart installed a new exhaust system on the 3 phase generator for the shop.  There's no flap cap yet so a bean can is on top, remove before starting.

Fred, there may not be anyone at the railroad Saturday morning.  Computer models predict a true nor' easter this weekend with snow accumulating up to two feet in the mid-coast region.  Snowfall will begin Friday morning and continue through Saturday afternoon.  Wind gusts will be at 25-35mph so there will be drifting snow.

After digging the truck out Cindy and I decided to check things at the railroad. Jeff plowed the two parking areas and cleared in front of the shop.  We dug our way into the east shop door (snow was above the door knob) and everything looks fine.  Note to Monday crew:  Come in the east door unless you want to do a lot of shoveling.  The north shop door is clear but the west side walkway is blocked. The strong winds did some odd snow sculpting.  There's no snow for the first 6 feet north the shop building, clean as a whistle.  Then you walk right into 3-4 foot drifts.  The south and west sides of the shop are snowed in.

Cindy posted some photos on facebook.

I haven't seen anything about this weekends Winter Work Weekend. Have I missed it or is it not an individual thread? Just wondering what is planned.

I plan on doing a little counterweight work. But due to all the snow, the crane will most likely not get the weight attached this weekend as I had planned.
