B&SR Socony Tank
« on: November 10, 2012, 07:27:48 PM »
On the rypn forum there is a post about a tank car body the poster found in the woods behind his house. The tank looks like a close relative of the B&SR tank. Road trip for patch panels? Here is the post on rypn. http://www.rypn.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34090&sid=dc085d89fc389c5face966d72ee44e5a

The Harrisburg Car Manufacturing Co. was started in 1853. it went through several bankruptcies and fires over the years, during which it built hundreds of freight cars. The University of Pennsylvania holds the archives of the company, including many builder's photos. It is a corporate ancestor of Harsco, which today builds maintenance of way equipment.

I also find that ladder fascinating. Made out of what looks like table legs. That must have been some table.

If the tank is the same size, the patch could be real easy.
