Bulletin Order 9-4-2021 indicates that Track Car #51, the Brookville, is now back in service.

Bravo to Jay for getting this completed!

I second the bravo to Jay.  Well deserved.  Thanks!
We want...A SHRUBBERY!  One that looks nice, and not too expensive.

Hello,
I am looking for documentation concerning the Brookville Cranberry No.51 and especially all the necessary dimensions : Lenght, Width, axle center distance, engine hood height, etc...,because I am considering the complete construction of a 1/22.5 Scale Model.
If anyone could help me with my project, I would be very grateful.
Thank you
Daniel

I can probably get you a set of dimensions. Give me a week or two to get back to you.

Hello Daniel,

I see that Benjamin Richards is going to help you and I'm sure he will give you everything you need.

Some information on the "Cranberry Specials" exists within pages of "Short & Narrow Rails" magazine that was published by James Eakin. His many books and magazines can be found on eBay. I have a few copies of the magazine also, as I was a subscriber.

You might be interested to read a thread within this discussion forum on how the Brookville was rebuilt by a volunteer at the W.W. & F. Ry. shop. The gentleman did considerable research and wrote it up in his postings.

The museum's Brookville has had a few modifications over the years. When it came to us, the original fuel tank (under the hood) was gone. Zack Wyllie had a new tank fabricated and he also hung the running boards on it.

I have a Brookville builders photo that I got from the late museum member David C. MacDonald. It's nothing fancy, but if you'd like to see it, e-mail me at wilsonwaterford57@gmail.com

I will be happy to share other information and photos of various "critters" as well.

Best of luck with your modeling project!
Wanted: Copies of correspondence and photographs from "first generation narrow gage railfans" such as Linwood Moody, Dick Andrews, Lawrence Brown, Ellis Atwood, H.T. Crittenden and others. Interested in all two foot (U.S.) rail operations, common carrier, industrial/mill and park/museum.

Hello Daniel,

The issue of Short and Narrow Rails that you want, is no. 21 from circa 1987. A photo of a 1 1/2 ton " Cranberry Special" is on page 25. This is a Brookville builders photo and the only one showing the model you are interested in building.

Back on topic, the choke control was repair today and now operates smoothly without binding or jamming.
