« on: August 10, 2009, 07:36:45 AM »
What a GREAT weekend! Thanks to all who made it happen!! Just getting to editing my pictures, but here are a couple from early Saturday morning...the first photo freight of the weekend, gliding through the woods at Albees crossing, and Joe looking back for signals. More to come...

Fantastic pics Steve !!!!!!!  I always look forward to seeing your work.  Was the head-on of #10 using a fish-eye lense?  Really neat composition.   BRAVO  8)

Really great photos.  I love everyone you do.  Was the Model T railcar there at all?

Thanks, everyone!

John, no fisheye lens, but just the wide end of my 18-105mm Nikkor, shot at 1/20th of a second. The lens has vibration reduction (VR) built-in, which definitely helps when you're trying to frame-up a shot while being jostled around in the north end of the caboose.

Mike, that sounds like a good one to me...the only one that popped into my head sounds more like a mafia nickname...Joey "the Rocket"  ;)

PS - notice how he's sneaking a glance over his shoulder...just making sure the train is still along for the ride!

We have too many J-name people: Joe, James, and Jason.  Will we have to come up with separate names for each?

There we go, Passin Patten passes the slow moving 52 at Alna Center.  :D Great photos Steve. They look beautiful. I love the one near Albee's crossing, that has the head light reflection in the water, so it looks like it is only a light. Kind of spooky actually. Almost as if it was a real ghost train southbound.
