While the 'headache rack' at the front of the [former] Copeland truck  load bed may still say "Copeland ...", I see that at least the driver's door has been re-lettered for the WW&F.  See this photo that Mike Fox posted earlier (2nd page back of this thread):

I'm going to post some FWW tracklaying related photos, but these will be some of the less exciting but still necessary activities that occur before the rails can be placed.

Ties were cut to length an stacked earlier at TOM (Top of Mountain) in large stacks. But to work with Elmer Gantry, the ties need to be bundled in stacks of 14 so they can be strapped together with a 'spreader bar with a lifting loop'.

Note: These photos are 'clickable' thumbnails; click to see larger.

Here we see  ties stacked in groups of 14 sufficient for most of the next two days:

Here we see Elmer Gantry preparing to load some of the tie stacks:

Details of the strapped bundles with the spreader on top, and the Gantry's chainfall moving a bundle aboard the flatcar.

Here we see a tie bundle being unloaded from Elmer at the current temporary end-of-track:

Once the bundle is set down and the straps released, additional rails will placed.

As of Friday PM, rails are perhaps now about 40 feet south of the Trout Brook bridge (means rails have not yet crossed the bridge).

Finally, a couple of spike maul 'handles' that "gave their all" today:

I arrived early, and had the truck running before daylight. Wanted to get right up there and get the last grading done before the rails started flying.

First thing I did was use the boulder as a ramp to load the Kubota. No pictures of the loading because I was too busy hanging on to get off and snap a shot.

Then I spent about half an hour finishing dozing, leveling the low spot. Then I lugged a bale of hay to South of the bridge to cover over the material I placed last weekend.

Dropped the Kubota at Alna Center before lunch, using the piles of ballast as the ramp.

Back north in the afternoon to check on progress and visit. Steady climb from the bridge.

Hello Mike I do wonder how you  have loaded the Kubota in reverse at that.

I used the bucket to lift up one end of the machine at a time. I got one set of wheels on the truck, then spun around and raised the other set of wheels up to get on the truck.

Thanks Mike. No wonder you did not have the time to take a pic. It was not at all the right moment to capsize the Kubota.

What a fabulous article. It truly captures the spirit of the just-concluded 2019 Fall Work Weekend and what makes the WW&F so special.

We'll done, everyone. Even if you are just following progress from afar, or drove spikes all four days, thank you for your part in rebuilding Maine history.

And here's a big thanks and a tip of the hat to all the folks who were busy running passenger trains, working on car 14, preparing and cooking and serving the meals, tending the ticket office and gift shop and so forth, most of whom did not have the opportunity to get to the new end of track and see the bridge with or without No. 9.

Couldn't agree with you more, Wayne.  I was fortunate to be on the work train this weekend so I could experience the progress directly down the Mountain, across Trout Brook and toward Route 218.  All this while many others provided support down the valley for this work along with a very successful event with SeaLyon Farm by Top of the Mountain.

None of this could have been accomplished with the support of all.
What–me worry?

I hope that Harry is pleased.

I think that Clarissa once said something to the effect of that if there aren't already any trains in heaven, Harry would be there laying track all over the place.

I'm sure all those passed members who made this weekend possible are smiling from their perches above.
