More progress today on the extension. Spending a lot more time than planned running wire.. But still looks like I'll finish next Sunday at the latest.
7am, Contractor Jeff had dropped 2 loads of erosion stone, one north and one south of the bridge.
Fall is making it's appearance..
A look at the south pile of erosion stone. 40 minutes later it was gone. Museum truck in the distance with ballast.
Had to move the log out of the shoreland zone..
Burying the wire to the bridge. I ran it through waterline for extra protection.
Someone left me a nice access point for installing the conduit in the bridge. After some struggles, finally installed. It lays on the 2×4 runners inside the wall.
With the pile on the North side taken care of, I backed the truck across the bridge to unload the ballast. 2 or 3 more loads next weekend and the south approach will be done.
Looking South from Casey..
Sand bar shot of the bridge.
Looking at EOT from the bridge
Left to do...
Saturday..
Ballast the rest of the south side of the bridge, to get it out of the shoreland zone.
Install the waterline/conduit on the north side of the bridge and run the wire in it. I would like help with this. Getting the wire in this morning by myself was rather a pain but got it done.
Bury the rest of the wire north of the shoreland zone.
Ballast north of the bridge about 130 feet, getting out of the shoreland zone.
Sunday, unless I am able to do these Saturday...
Ditch on the west side of where the frog will be. There was a brush pile there last year when I ditched.
Cut down a couple other spots in the ditches by the passing siding. I was expecting to build up the grade more than we did. Now that we have a solid surface, I can quickly cut that down.
Lastly, flatten out the stone through the curve. The truck traffic has settled the outside, and don't want the track set on high center.
