I have always believed one is only as old as one feels. Some days I feel like I'm 71, and other days I feel like I'm 40. When I'm at the WW&F, it's mostly 40's! This hobby and this place keeps me feeling young.

Actually, Wayne has a great point about life at the WW&F.

Life on the Railroad in Maine always seems a little more crisp, the colors a little brighter when the steam is viewed against a deep blue sky or on a cold morning when there is so much steam the locomotive almost disappears, the smells of the coal smoke and hot oils more fragrant, the hissing, thumping and chuffing pleasantly sharp to the ear, the warmth of the boiler on a damp day and of course, the taste of a comforting hot meal at noon or at the end of a work weekend day.  Life doesn't get any better than this.

Bill B

I attribute the added Gravity to the stopping of Atomic Testing. Those born before they stopped testing
certainly notice it more than those born after. Add to those you mentioned are: getting up from the floor,
and getting out of a chair.

Time is actually flexible, A minute depends on what side you are of the Bathroom door.

Life is like a roll of Toilet Paper - the closer that end the faster it goes.

Wind was gusty. I would guess times of 40 mph..
But we were determined. So between gusts..this happened.

And then again..

Before..

After..

Interesting formation at location 9..

I think about 6 people were working there all day. The first tree dropped dead center of our fire so we just put dry dead limbs on the small fire. Soon it was so hot we couldn't get near with the saws so we were burning parts of the tree that were 10 inches across. By the end of the day all that was left was ash. Still about 500 Ft. to cut. At least it away from the bridge and ditch. Great day.

Wind was gusting all day. Temps were around 20, making the wind chill around 0 when the higher gusts hit..
