We've been chipping away at the pine pile at the North end this week. Three pickup truck loads taken over to Johnny. About 5 loads left.

Another permit was completed tonight, ready for the presidential stamp of approval this weekend, provided he is available..
This one is for the second large culvert we need to install. 4 feet tall, 40 feet long.. Hope to mail on Monday.

 Saturday morning I arrived to find contractor Jeff left 4 loads of the bony gravel..

The contractor has also started work on filling in the slide at location 4 on the right of way down the mountain.

How much has been graded south from 218?

How is the contractor compacting the new fill material at the slide location, and what is holding the bottom to keep it from moving again?

Jeff, we have made it within 50 feet of the Alna Shoreland Zone permitted area. That starts in the cut. One more load will do it.

Our contractor is using the same method he did with the fill of the washout last year, which is more compaction than the original had. Proper drainage and keeping the trees off the slope will help keep this stable for a long time.

Two more questions:

Is the new fill on the slide wider on top than the original was?

Is the fill material falling to its angle of repose?
