I didn't see anything special on ebay, I don't know what you mean by dumping, the only thing I saw dumped was the wooden toy whistles.

The link I included was from the page that I saw them on but once I posted it here we are got a different page....Not sure why.
I had opened a certain page that I usually look at for RR related hardware and saw a lot of whistles from different makers which is something I don't usually see on that page.  In fact, it was almost all whistles so I thought some one was selling a bunch of them.   Perhaps Ebay was having issues which they sometimes do and the search page was not the one I usually get?  Not sure.  I have noticed in the past that my saved search page for certain items comes back with all kinds of unrelated items during the Christmas vacation period or on other major holidays.  I have always assumed that is because the elves that run Ebay are all off skiing someplace for a week and things go down hill a bit until they get back to work.

I've found that checking the sellers helps, go to the sellers items to see if one person is listing a lot of items. I know of at least one that specializes in steam stuff. Now if some builders plates would turn up! :)

Kayakers1107 is  now selling a B&W negative of No. 2 on the turntable at Albion in 1930. This is a photo I don't recall seeing before.

I don't think I have seen that one either.  I looked in detail at all the turntable shots I could find when I was working on the design for ours.

A couple interesting items to note from this one:  There appears to be no outer rail, it is just supported on blocks of wood.  If the truss rods are tensioned enough, the outer part of the turntable won't touch until the engine comes on, which is essentially how ours is set up.   Also note the tilting of the fourth cross beam from the end on the underside - that is due to the attachment of the inner truss rod.  All of the original turntables had that problem.  I deviated from the originals with a cast anchor for that truss rod, due to this problem.

This is my first post to the fourm but I've followed it passively from time to time.

Since last fall's Work Weekend, I've been trawling on eBay regularly for WW&F items, usually photos. For the past few months I've communicated with Linda Zollers when I find a WW&F photo or slide newly listed. I'll send her a copy of the listed photo as well as a link to the actual listing descriptions  Linda then tells me that she is or is not interested (usually because she already has a copy of the image).

I've been placing bids on behalf of the museum with some success and have the items shipped directly to her attention at the Museum's  PO Box.  These purchases are charged to my personal credit card and I submit receipts for reimbursement.  I notify Linda when bids go high for her advice regarding price limits.

After reading Linda's article in previous newsletter about the space shortage, I offered to bring my Hi-Res scanner and spend 3+ days getting things digitized. I had planned to make the trip this past week but had to postpone the visit due to intense back pains--the 4-5 hour drive from South Burlington VT was just too much.  I'll reschedule as soon as things improve.

Looks like a nice telephone, but we have several similar ones in reserve already. Thanks for keeping us in mind, however.

Maybe some other member would like it. If anyone shows interest, I hope to get their name, and we'll put him/her to work on maintaining the WW&F system. ;D
