Stormy skies over Sheepscot...literally.
« on: June 01, 2009, 07:35:08 PM »
Some of you might find this of interest. As I was leaving last Saturday, this tremendous looking sky rolled in from the west. I looked in my rear view mirror, saw this scene and jumped out to take a couple of pictures. The photo was taken from the south side of Cross Rd, looking southwest across the little fire pond. (that's the ROW, about halfway up in the frame on the far edge of the pond). Imagine if a train were moving along at that moment, heading north toward Sheepscot. Definitely a good reason to start building south!

That did boil in rather quickly. But then left about the same speed.  Very nice photo.

There are craftsmen and then there are artists. Nice to know we've got one of the latter. Nice job, Stephen, as always.
Don't ask me. I only cut the grass. Oops, I don't even do that anymore.

Stephen;
   What a great shot! Thanks for posting. I don't htink I've ever looked at the area from this angle. It looks like you should be calling for Auntie Em!

 Another beutiful picture. Yes it would look better with a train running thru it. It looks to be about the area where the #5 went into the mud about where the tall tree in the middle of the picture is.

Thank you all very much for your kind comments! I was sort of hesitant at first posting it because there's absolutely no railroad in it AT ALL...
much appreciated!

Stephen,
Maybe you could Photoshop in a train so they would see how good it would look and look southward for future development. Beautiful photo even without a train (2-foot gage).

Stephen,
Just because the folks on this forum are a bunch of train enthusiasts doesn't mean we don't appreciate the beauty of a trainless scene captured by your talented eye and camera.  Thanks for the wonderful picture.
Duncan
PS: As jock noted it would also look nice with a train photoshoped in.  He, he.
