SOCONY Tank Car to Bridgton
« on: May 13, 2009, 11:46:49 AM »
The MNGRR board voted last night to approve leasing the tank car to Bridgton. Lease and schedule to be worked out in the very near future. This should spark up Bridgton to finish the platform and get their tools ready.

Stay tuned.

Hans,

Great news for those of us who are fans of the B&SR RR.  I suspect it will look nice along side the flanger.

That's wonderful news, Hans!

Such cooperation between groups can only increase public awareness of all the Maine Two Footers.  And increased awareness will ultimately translate into greater visitation.  That's the best way to secure the preservation of everything.

My appreciation and congratulations to all for the foresightedness of this decision!

Best Regards,
Glenn

Great news!  And remember, if any help is needed extending track, etc., I'd be willing to lend a hand and I'm sure there are others who are ready to help, too.

Dana,

I'll pass the word to Bill Shelley. Saw him last night. This really got the wheels restarted. Local newpaper has been informed, Bill is rechecking with his donors and contractors that made commitments earlier for materials, I am working on the lease, setting up to put the car on our ramp track...the list goes on. Our goal is June 1 subject to the display stand being ready.

Maybe Big Joe Tampiere will be involved!

Very exciting.
