The first train along the tramway section of the WHR across Britannia Bridge in Porthmadog ran at about 0500 this moring. Actually the Funkey diesel
Vale of Ffestiniog was sent across first as a light engine to check that the flangeways had been correctly cleared. It then returned to collect the new WHR Pullman Observation Car, the WHR Romanian saloon carriage and FR brake/observation car No.111. the train was then parked on the site of Porthmadog 'New' station, near the old flour mill, to await a path across the Cambrian Coast line later in the morning. The train is currently proceeding through Beddgelert forest en route to Dinas.
