New Insignia for Return of the Rails
« on: September 12, 2008, 07:22:49 PM »
Hi Folks,

Bill Shelley has asked me to share this with you.

It is the new insignia for the group "Return of the Rails", which as you may recall spearheaded the drive to return the B&SR flanger for display in Bridgton.

True Bridgton fans will immediately recognize the design's source.  A local restuaranteur kindly donated funding so the insignia could be professionally done.

The group continues to work behind the scenes in Bridgton to expand its local support.  This insignia and additional signage will be installed at the exhibit site in the weeks to come.  Additional development is expected, so stay tuned.  In the meantime, if you'd like to assist "Return of the Rails" in their mission, you may either sign up at the Chamber of Commerce office, next to the flanger on Route 302 or you can call Bill Shelley directly at:  (207)221-0205

Best Regards,
Glenn Christensen

We have had WW&F patches in the museum store for over a year and a half and have sold 23 of them.

Patches are popular with those who love patches, but at least in the two foot community, there aren't many aficionados

Now pins - they sell. ( over 200 sold in two years)

How about T-shirts? I think you could sell a few of those. You have to sew patches on a shirt or put them in a display case. Nice logo. I'd buy a shirt (XL please...) I'm sure allan wouldn't mind displaying a few at the WW&F. It's a good way to contribute to the return of the the two footers to their original home in Maine.

Now THAT'S odd!
I sure don't remember seeing any there, patches OR pins! I'd like to think if I DID see em I'd've bought one of each by now at least!
I guess I'll have to look more carefully next time  ;)

Hi Folks,

I've been talking with Bill Shelley and he has asked me to tell you that he is in the process of having about 60, high-quality tee shirts in various sizes made up with the new Return of the Rails insignia.

These should be available from the Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce in 2-3 weeks.  Donation will be $25 plus S&H.

If you would like one, please contact the Chamber at (207)647–3472.

More is on the way ... stay tuned.

Best Regards,
Glenn

Hi Folks,

Bill Shelley tells me the Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce will be receiving "Return of the Rails" T-shirts this coming Friday, October 3rd.  Each one is colorfully adorned with the previously shown version of the B&SR insignia.

The requested donation is $25 plus S&H.  (Priority mail is $4.85 and the handling charge is $1.00.)

You can get one (or more) by contacting the Chamber at (207)647–3472.

Best Regards,
Glenn

Also I noticed the new Banner is up. They tied it to the Flanger. Looks good.

That's a great logo! Gotta have a Tee-Shirt!  Will we be able to get one on Field Trip Day?

I'll take one of those T shirts, that's a nice looking emblem.  I saw the flanger with the banner at Bridgton when we were driving over to North Conway.  The 40 looks good back in it's old home town.  I hope things get worked out so a section of rail can be put back on the original grade.  That would be great.

To all coming to the Bridgton Chamber on Sunday at 9am for the field trip with MIke Fox, I would be more than happy to meet you all there with t-shirts and a set of track maps if that would be of any help to you. Let me know if there is anything else you may need. Bill Shelley  Return of The Rails

Bill,
That sounds great to me.  The track maps and t shirts would be nice.  After our lengthy phone discussion a few months back about the return to rails project, I look forward to meeting you in person as well.

There will more than enough t-shirts in all sizes to outfit whoever shows up. Anything else needed for your trip? If so, drop me an e-mail,I'll see what I can do. See you all 9am Sunday morning at the Flanger. Bill Shelley
