"NEW" 240 page book on WW&F

The new expanded text and enhanced photographs book A Two-Footer Trilogy by Clinton Thurlow is now available for sale at the WW&F Museum Store for $30. This reprint of the three 1965 Thurlow books, The Weeks Mills "Y" of the Two-Footer, The WW&F Two Footer Hail & Farewell, and Over The Rails by Steam has been enlarged with larger Font size and  pictures reproduced from the original Thurlow negative and photograph collection.

Books can be sent by priority mail for an additional $5.00 and Maine residents add 5% sales tax ($1.50). Make out checks to WW&F Railway Museum, and send to WW&F, PO Box 242, Alna, ME 04535.

I remember "discovering" those pamphlets in the Public Library in Portland many moons ago. ;)

Alan,

Many thanks for doing that reprint. It contains a lot of photos and informationon about the railway that I have never seen before. Sure some of the pictures are poor quality; but we are lucky to have anything at all from the start of the 20th century! Especialy those from the W & Q period of the line.

In other news, there was a long running series of articles in the old Railroad magazine called Interesting Railfans I have seen over 100 of the series. One of them is for Alice Ramsdall. She was the person who, following after her father, preserved the WW&F equipment in Connecticut for so many years.

Interesting Railfan #61by Freeman Hubbard is in the January 1968 issue of Railroad and contains several pictures of her, the  farm house in West Thompson, CT and even the snow covered box car that has now been restored by the WW&F Museum.

I bought the first Trilogy out of the box today. Very nice combination of the three books on the cover. Well worth the price.
