Hello All!

The volunteer sign-up for the Amherst Railroad Society's Railroad Hobby Show at the 'Big E' in West Springfield, MA is now live!

The show is being held on Saturday January 25 and Sunday January 26. Setup happens afternoon/night of Friday the 24th and takedown is immediately following the show at 5PM on Sunday. I've made an attempt to split the days up so people could still help the WW&F at our display and also enjoy the show, but if you need more specific hours or can only give part of a day, we are beggars not choosers, so we'll take whatever you can give.

Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084CAFAF2DA3F9CF8-54039025-railroad

Some of you have already reached out to me (thank you!)

If you've never been, the show is a really fun way to meet folks interested in all-things railroad from around the Northeast, and really, the entire country. If you've already been, you know what I'm talking about!

Thanks for helping get this crewed so we can all go down, spread the good word about the WW&F, see old friends and make new ones and welcome some folks who don't yet know what we're up to in Alna

Best,
Steve

I am putting this post here as well as the #10 work page, bur I am looking to put together a compilation of videos of #10 to show at Springfield. This year the #10 team intends to have a bigger presence at the show then last year. We plan to bring the smoke box front with the number plate, the bell and the headlight. Like last year we will have #10 number plate tokens and new for this year we plan to have #10 T-shirts. Along with all this we plan to bring small TV to present 10 in the past years, what she looked like, what she did, and more importantly her voice, so we can bring more hype to the return of an Alna icon.

If anyone has videos of 10 that they are willing to let us use, I'd greatly appreciate it. Quality does not matter. You can send them to me via Email.

Thank you
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Bumping this thread, since it's almost show time.  Our tables are in the same location as last year:  The entire section 76 in the Young Building, just inside the main entrance.  For folks who could not attend last year, the yellow star marks our location:

Many folks have been working hard to make us look good again this year, including Cindy and the gift shop crew, Dan and the locomotive No. 10 rebuild crew, the vacuum brake team, the Build 11 team, and the coach No. 9 team.  Steve P. has been busy herding the cats and arranging our overall exhibit.

The weather is predicted to be about the best as possible by New England late January standards, so I expect we will see many of our members and friends Saturday and Sunday.  Hope to see you there!
We want...A SHRUBBERY!  One that looks nice, and not too expensive.

An FYI for folks who normally get breakfast at Charlie's Diner before the show:  Apparently the diner had a bad fire last August and is currently closed.  I'll be driving by the diner tomorrow and will update if it has since reopened.
