A few photos from today, Saturday, December 7th.

Nick Simoneau and Dan Malkowski stringing lights on the Christmas tree in front of Sheepscot Station early in the day.  Also helping was Nick Anderson.  It looked sharp as I arrived on Cross Road shortly after dawn.

General passenger agent Ed Lecuyer and conductor Ben Richards on the platform of caboose No. 320 shortly before the departure of the first train of the day.

Bryce Weeks loads No. 9's bunker with coal shortly before train time.

Santa greets the first train of the day as it arrives at Alna Center.

A view inside the Alna Center pavilion, showing a portion of the crowd and some of the holiday vendors.  We're looking eastward, toward the station.

Families visiting Santa at the east end of the pavilion.

And James Patten at our Railway's table at the opposite end of the pavilion.

Inside Alna Center station, Steve Piwowarski and Annie Baron helped guests decorate holiday ornaments.

The second train of the day has arrived at Alna Center.  Passengers are starting to disembark.

The rest of the train, which consisted of W&Q coach No. 3, WW&F combine No. 8 and WW&F caboose No. 320.

This view reminds me of the historic 1930s and '40s photos of New England snow trains after arrival at their destinations.

Chief executive elf Dave Buczkowski greeting guests at Sheepscot.

A different view of No. 9 getting serviced in her usual spot at Sheepscot, courtesy of the new passenger platform.

It was great to see many young families enjoying the day.  So many volunteers not named here helped make this happen.  Nice work by all.

We want...A SHRUBBERY!  One that looks nice, and not too expensive.

The weather forecast for Wednesday looks like it could cause some problems, especially with downed trees due to high winds. Are there plans for inspection/clean-up on either Thursday or Friday?

Locomotive work sessions.

Folks, Build11 will hold its December 2024 work session this Thursday thru Saturday, 12/12 thru 12/14.

Loco10 work sessions occur nearly every Friday, including this Friday, 12/13.  Work focuses on mechanical aspects of boiler work.

Thanks
Jason

Partial list of work done Saturday Dec 14:

* Loco 11 - by the end of the day the pony truck assembly was partially assembled, so much so that I could say "oh THAT'S how that works"
* Victorian Christmas - sold out.  Lots of sharp looking crew members.
* Board meeting

Alna Center report for Saturday Dec 21:

* Victorian Christmas trains - sold out.  The day was cold and windy.  Everyone seemed pretty happy.

Someone else will have to report on Sheepscot happenings.

In Sheepscot there was an impromptu night photo shoot as the train was put away.

Also Jason was tinkering with a space ship.

Took a quick walk south to check on Beavers. Found none, but do still enjoy this sight.

First train ready to leave Sheepscot.
