Victorian Christmas 2023
« on: November 30, 2023, 12:42:50 PM »
Finally going to Victorian Christmas this year. I can't wait. What events are planned? Will 9 be the only steamer in operation? I'm assuming so with 7 in Portland and 3 at Edaville.

No. 9 will be alternating with 52 to bring trains to and from Alna Center. At Alna Center, Santa will be visiting the kids, plus our friends at SeaLyon Farm have set up a holiday market featuring local vendors. Snacks and hot chocolate will be available, along with ornament making, etc.

It's going to be a great return to the traditions of Victorian Christmas "of old".

Minus the unmanageable crowds/parking situation.

Here are the best 19 photos of the event that I took on Saturday. I had a great time and can't wait for February.

This week's Lincoln County News has an article about last Saturday's Victorian Christmas.  I'm sure it will be available on their website eventually.

James P snapped these photos at the end of the day at AC.

Thanks to Steve P and Marcia Lyons for organizing and executing a great destination for visitors and hosting Santa Claus. The 2023 Victorian Christmas was  beautifully done; thanks to all of the volunteers who made it possible. Well done WW&F! Now onto 2024...

Two sets of stills were posted on the WW&F FB page: December 9th and December 12th.  There's also a video of #9 shifting at AC the only day we had snow.

Hi All,

Now that our Victorian Christmas celebrations are in the rearview mirror, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who was involved in making them a success-
Thanks to everyone in the operating department and on the crews- thank you for making the trains run smoothly and safely and providing a joyful experience to our passengers.
To the ground crew at Alna Center who made everything happen and work, and rolled with changes and tweaked to make improvements as we went.
To our ornament making facilitators.
To Nancy Weeks for keeping us fed and shopping for the event when I was too sick to get out.
To the gift shop crew for keeping the store open to the delight of many of our passengers.
To the vendors who added so much and created a lovely pop-up Christmas market each week.
To all those who helped decorate at both AC and Sheepscot.
To all of those who were able to join us for the experience
And everyone who I have not mentioned specifically, but are so important to making everything happen just so day in and out at the Railway-

Thank you and Merry Christmas- we couldn’t do it without you!
