Thanks James.

These trucks will become Box56’s permanent trucks.  Their wheel condition is appropriate for this car.

Coach 8’s current trucks will be removed and replaced with the rebuilt J&S trucks (with V Brakes).

Coach 8’s then former trucks will be outfitted with V Brakes.  One will go to flat 34, the other to flat 126.

One current truck on flat 126 is in dire need of rebuilding including all new oak.  This will be done- after which it will be placed under flat 34 (without V Brakes).

The big picture here is to optimize wheel condition and v brake availability under our most used passenger-capable equipment.

Thanks
Jason

Some photos from yesterday, Saturday, December 30th.

Pulling the trucks from B&SR flatcar No. 34 for installation under B&SR boxcar No. 56.  Mike Fox lifting the flatcar off the trucks.

The flatcar was placed on blocks in the upper (west) parking lot until its replacements trucks are ready.

Starting the lift of the truck with brakes for the trip over to shop bay 3.  This truck was swung 180 degrees before being placed into the south end of bay 3.

The other truck was moved to the north end of shop bay 3.  It, too, needed to be turned 180 degrees to accommodate No. 56's coupler.

Over the next 10 days or so Marcel Levesque will prepare the two trucks before installation under No. 56.

Meanwhile, automated cycle testing was underway on one of the vacuum brake cylinders, discussed here.
We want...A SHRUBBERY!  One that looks nice, and not too expensive.
