* Steam ops - for practice firing with #9's new brick arch.

This has turned into a special one-day-only public passenger trip to Trout Brook and SeaLyon Farm! It will feature a mixed train with TWO trips up the mountain. Help with passenger and train handling welcome. Or just come and enjoy a Steam Train Snow Day!

Work done at Sheepscot on 1/27:

* Pop-up public train trip to TBS and SeaLyon Farm.  Sell out train.  No issues on the Mountain.
* Machine shop - Alan and Harold were working on "stuff", probably #11 related.
* Engine house - Brendan was building a door, and Stewart was putting up siding.

* Op Support: New volunteer Chris assisted with snow removal and coach cleaning. Then came back later in the day to help during pickup/clean up.
* Grants: Ed & Nicole met to advance funding opportunities.

Of course, the majority of volunteer efforts today took place at the RR Hobby Show in Springfield. Report pending.

* Special thanks to Eric and Ron for allowing the engine house crew to use the wood shop, the heated bay was good for primer painting door casing and corner boards.  The first set dried quickly enough to be installed on the east stall of the engine house.  More casing and trim boards have been painted and will be installed on the front of the engine house in the next couple of days - weather permitting.

Too bad the photogs weren't showing up on Tuesday.  It's a true Winter Wonderland right now.

Just run a steam train on Tuesday and see how many of us are local enough to show up ;)

A too brief mention of the Amherst Railway Society's Railroad Hobby Show this past weekend at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA.  Atttendence was north of 15,000 Saturday, a new show record.

Our expanded, relocated presence in section 76 of the Young Building was well organized by Steve Piwowarski.  Our tables now greet visitors through the main entrance of the building.  10+ WW&F volunteers were busy this weekend.

No photos, save a screenshot and background one.  Springfield's channel 22 reported from the show Sunday.  A brief screenshot from their report, with reporter Heath Kalb aboard our handcar No. 2.

And a background photo.

Indeed photos by Jason, as his arm and camera show up in his glasses in his selfie with Dan and Ben.
