Also on Tues Oct 3rd, we will be hosting a charter/tour group sponsored by Trains magazine. Help giving tours and guiding visitors would be appreciated.

Will need a couple of extra hands late Wednesday PM as I will have a bunch of castings and patterns from Cattail Foundry and also a Car Heater for Coach 9 and a few other things.  The truck will be full.

A handful of photos from the first day of Fall Work Weekend can be found here.
We want...A SHRUBBERY!  One that looks nice, and not too expensive.

All of the public access points on the railroad have been renamed to WWFRwy. If your computer or cell phone can reach any of them, you will have connectivity. No need to be changing the ESSID anymore as you wander around the railroad. Thanks to Eva Nelson for this.

Work done on Saturday, October 7:

* Coach 8: New siding was going back onto the car, and the window sills were getting sanded and epoxied.
* Railcar 4: Ben R was underneath the car alot, working on the brakes (and maybe other things).
* Car barn track 3: The track leading into the barn was leaning the wrong way, so the track got removed this week.  This morning Mike regraded it, then put the track panels back.  The track got respiked, ballasted, and tamped.
* Boxcar 56: Marcel was working on the roof walk and putting other finishing touches on the car.
* Machine shop: Several people were working in the shop, but I didn't catch what it was on.
* Food: Nancy and Joan were busy working on great meals.
* Technology: Russ and Eva were working on the wifi.  Ed was working on reservation management.
* Public trains: Due to the anticipated heavy rain, Pumpkin trains got moved to Monday (hence Ed's work).
* Honors: At lunch, President Dave dedicated the engine house to Fred and Sharron Morse (complete with sign), and handed out the Percival Awards.

Percival Awards were given to two highly deserving members, Bill Reidy and Steve Lennox, to much acclaim and applause.

Anticipated Work
Week of October 9, 2023

I apologize this slipped.

Eric and team are continuing work on coach 8- including priming.  I’m not sure if it’ll get top coat this week.

Coach 9 work has carried on as well.

Harold has made some tweaks to our new lathe.

Jerry and Carlos are finalizing work on the J&S trucks.  They are scheduled for installation on coach 3 next week.

I saw Stewart working on campus cleanup and trash duty- not trivial after a work weekend.

Other work?

Jason
