New roadside sign
« on: August 08, 2024, 03:36:54 PM »
The new sign was put up on the lawn of the Percival house today. Joe Lamontagne built the frame for the sign. I don't know who made the sign someone will have to add details.

Hi All, the sign was made by museum member Peter Knight of Danville, VT. He is a sign-maker and woodworker and offered to make the sign for us at cost of materials and donated the labor to build the sign. He delivered the sign about a month ago, then Joe kindly took on building the frame and the result is what you see here!

Thanks to all who made this happen!

That's terrific, so long needed!!

Can that serve as a model template for all permanent signage around the railroad? Could be scaled back in terms of timber size, but a constant projection of signage design everywhere would be a big boost to our presentation as a world-class railroad Museum!

How about some solar powered lighting for the sign at night?

That's a neat idea, John.

How about a kerosene lantern instead? More period-authentic.   ::)

If one could adapt a solar light system to a couple of old lanterns, I'd say best of both worlds. ;)
