Interesting that the first locomotive to be repaired in our new engine house (see the Facebook post) is from one of our collaborator partners.  Everyone wins.

It was moved in last Saturday, and my photo of that is above.

We are in the need of shop space. The Engine House is not supposed to be shop space, but will do for now to get the job done.

Work done on Saturday November 19:

* Vehicle repair: Mike fixed the lift gate on the F350 then another part broke which he also fixed.
* Woods track: Mike also moved some stone for the woods track base.
* Engine house: I put up more tarpaper, as much as I could do with obstacles in the way.  Fred put shingles on the bottom two rows on the west wall, over to the door, while Stewart was shingling between the windows.
* Platform demolishing: After lunch Brendan removed most of the platform 2x's in front of the gift shop, then demolished the ramp.
* Top of Mountain: Several of us went up to TOM where Jeff Verney had cleared out the cemetery area this past week, and this coming week will be prepping the area near the platform for the shelter from the SS platform.

Additionally, new volunteer Rich and I fabricated a weldment for Build11 which will serve as a placeholder for the cylinder castings until they return from the machine shop.  The temporary structure will permit work to continue without putting undue pressure on our shop to rush the job.  Cylinder machining isn’t something we want rushed :)

The 350 blew a brake line, which I repaired under Presidential supervision..

Broken chain on the lift gate. There is a capacity that the gate can handle, and it will be stenciled. I do not think that is what happened this time, but past use can yeild future results..

Station

The Snow Siding of the Woods Track was moved slightly, closer to its final position. The Flanger and Equipment car were moved up close to the plow to free up some track for winter storage.

The Orange stake in the center below will be the center of the Woods Track, with the Snow Siding still needed to be moved to the right about a foot.

I'm guessing the planned "Snow Siding" is to store the B&SR flanger and plow, and perhaps other equipment, off the woods track.
What–me worry?

Do I see a new switch in our future to allow access to the woods track and the snow siding or will it become an orphan track as I have seen on a few track plans?

As yet undefined.  We’d talked about a drop on show fly switch.  Otherwise a new frog for a stub switch.

Woods/ snow also a place to properly remove and store rail gantry.

Eventually the plow will wind up about where Millie is in my 3rd photo, and hopefully will be room for the flanger too. It is too late this year to make it happen. The ground is starting to freeze and turns to mud if it warms up above freezing.

As I was headed north on Rt 1 Wednesday afternoon, I passed B&SR coach Mt Pleasant southbound. Must have been headed to MNG for Christmas.
