Work done on Saturday Sept 10:

* Basement clean out - was a great success.  The future kitchen area was cleaned out with junk moved to the truck and working fridges moved the other side of the stairs, then the store shelving was moved over to that location.  Other junk was  thrown out and other stuff moved.
* Training class - Jason ran a training class for some new future brakemen.
* Mike versus the stump - The stump won the first round, popping a hose on the Kubota.  Well after lunch for Round 2, Mike proved victorious with the bulldozer.
* Boxcar 56 - Marcel was working on side boards.
* Machine shop - Alan fixed a thing.  I think Harold was working on something for the coach.
* Board meeting

The "dine" will feature a special cookout hosted by our friends at SeaLyon Farm and arranged by Don's affiliation with local veterans. Cookout train leaves at 4pm.

Not only did we gain those spaces, but it also looks much neater. Steve sent me this photo of the progress. A HUGE improvement.

Jeff, this is the upper parking lot looking from the north end to the south. The big parking lot is on the left side on the other side of the trees.

Specifically, the BOD at the Sept. 10th meeting resolved that volunteers who are able to do so park in this upper lot on Saturdays during the duration of Pumpkin Trains (Sept 24 - Oct 22). This will fulfill the parking requirements the WW&F agreed to during the 2017 plan with the town of Alna.

2-3 parking attendants are still needed for Oct 8, Fall Work Weekend, also to fulfill the agreed upon requirements.

Wow, I just drove through and was able to see first hand. Not only was I able to drive in; I was able to turn around with the trailer in the lot! Thank you guys so much- it’s a huge improvement; paired with the improvements in the back, this will go a long way to improving the situation.

Best,
Steve

Without Dave at the meeting, Randy kept it short. Like an hour and 15 minutes. This gave Steve Lx and myself time to look at the upper lot. I figured he could fill the truck and I'd make a trip Saturday to dispose of it. But 3 trips. Wow. I did not think there was that much up there.
