Edaville is reopening November 10th
« on: August 02, 2022, 11:36:17 AM »
Per a Facebook announcement today (https://www.facebook.com/EdavilleFamilyThemePark/), Edaville will be reopening November 10th for the Christmas Festival of Lights.
What–me worry?

It appears that Edaville may have new owners (or by a strict reading, new operators), one of them (literally) 8) with a WW&F connection.  :)

See this page:

No, I'm not a Facebook member, but that page is public (you can view it without being a member).
Here is a quote of part of the text:

Rest assured, Edaville is no longer for sale. The new operators, Shervin B. Hawley, Managing Partner of Sudbury, MA, and Brian Fanslau, Operations Partner of Alna, ME, are committed to the long-term success of Edaville as a traditional family park centered on its historic steam locomotives and family-oriented activities. Thank you for being so patient as we plan for the November opening - you'll be rewarded with the experience you have come to know and love over the last 75 years.Neither Thomas Land nor Dino Land will be open this year as we concentrate on how to make the Christmas Festival of Lights one to remember for our 75th anniversary. We will answer other questions as we progress with our plans for 2022 and beyond. Tickets will be available online when our new website launches around Labor Day.

The Carver amusement park — with its train ride through cranberry bogs, Thomas Land, and other attractions — was up for sale this spring. It has not been sold, but two new partners are investing in the park.

A few more snippets from the article:

[Brian] Fanslau owns Maine Locomotive and Machine Works and makes his living repairing steam trains around New England, including the ones at Edaville.

Trains at the park will be as important as ever, he said.

“One change we're going to have for this Christmas season is, we want to have steam trains all the time,” he said. “Our plans are essentially to get Edaville back to its original roots — local themes, steam trains.”
