That turntable needs lots of leverage to turn, even empty.  Or a gallon of on grease on the railheads.

This thread has been quiet since last summer, but I just thought it was worth showing how things have progressed in the last year. Here's Dan Malkowski demonstrating that the turntable's secrets have been mastered.

One person operation.  I'm impressed!
We want...A SHRUBBERY!  One that looks nice, and not too expensive.

The question is: Can Dan turn 7 by himself?

Yes, but you'd have to give him a small tractor to do it.

Supposedly when the table was at Edaville you'd only need 1-2 people to turn the Bridgton engines.

In Pithiviers turning a locomotive on the turntable  is no picnic now it needs at least three people, the steam crew plus the conductor and a prybar to lever it up and make it in motion. In the old days I was once able to turn our #9 alone to take a pic but then again the engine was well balanced on the turntable thas was not too worn out back then, and I was young.
