Alan brought in our most recent purchase. This is a used light tower purchased from a rental company. It has a touch over 4000 hours on it which is not bad. Powered by a little Kubota engine, my guess is about 800cc. We plan on using this for temporary lighting for the parking lot, or to provide light where we may want it, say Alna Center.. Say hello to Edison.

Love the "hot pink" color of our new "brighten up the night" light tower.  Is the pink color so we can find it in the dark to turn it on?

"Edison" has a timer feature so it can turn itself on and off. No hot pink detector required.

Is the plan for runs from Sheepscot to Trout Brook to turn the  engine at each end or to use the turntable at TBS primarily for a runaround?

Regardless, I’m thinking that #9 would always be facing south on the mountain, because she only sands running forward.....correct?

That, and it's a lot easier to keep the crown sheet covered with water if the locomotive is facing uphill.

With our 6% grade on the J&LNG, we are intentionally not making any way for our locomotive to do anything but be facing uphill. Its safer that way!

#9 has faced North on the mountain, and will face forward as often as the crew likes now that turntables are at each end.

The key to firing or running on any railroad is knowing what the water will do along the way, and knowing if the engine is turned, things need to be the opposite.
