Mike Fox wrote:I just purchased another book on Maine Central. To my surprise, there are 4 very nice color photos of the B&H. 3 are of the Junction, 2 with #8 at the station and the other with an overall view of the yard looking North. The fourth photo is of Bridgton yard, taken from the edge of the ballfield looking toward the station. All part of the 470 RR club collection.
These color pics don't hide much. The passenger cars are a rusty red color. The two tank cars are a grey of some shade, possibly a faded silver. Boxcars are a faded box car red and the flatcars are either black or natural wood.
Seeing these gets me thinking of a trip to the Bridgton Historical Society. I think there might have been a color photo or 2 over there. Time to start planning.

Stewart Rhine replied:Mike, You probably know this but there is a color photo CD on the B&H that was produced by Maine Two Foot Quarterly. The images are from color slides taken from 1938 through 1941. There was an ad in MTFQ last year. If you don't get the magazine, their web site should have the info.
Mike Fox replied:I had forgotten about that. Guess I'll have to splurge on that too.

Mike Fox replied:No need to splurge. I was kindly reminded I already own it. Guess I'll have to review it again.
