Great teaser, Mike.

For anyone who knows.. please don’t let the cat out of the bag yet.

We’re working on an announcement…

Thanks all,
Jason

I hope you were wearing gloves……in my experience cats don’t take kindly to being placed in a sack!

*  Coach #9 assembly continues, looks like interior work done.  (Eric, Ron)

The interior is not nearly done. We do have the oak up to the bottom of the window sill, but now it gets a lot more complicated. Almost every piece that goes in now will have some kind of molded edge.

We are also looking into the interior hardware. I have made a few RTV molds and cast a few wax parts, and Tuesday Eric and I visited a foundry in Brownfield ME to check them out for making our interior hardware. It looks like they will be able to do all we need in the various brass latches, hinges, knobs, etc. I have a lot of mold making to do, in my home shop.

Eric is also looking for parts to make the hanging lamps we need. That will be a rather long project.

When making the ceiling lighting fixtures for the new coach, is there thought of creating fixtures for coach 3 as well?

Yes- plan is to make enough to cover both coaches 3 and 9 as well as a spare.  They’ll be easily convertible between LED and oil, with the plan to use LED most of the time and oil for occasional photo opportunities.

Coach 3 is slated for a major overhaul once coach 9 goes in service.  We don’t want Eric and Ron bored, ever…

See ya

I'd guess the engine house guys are going to have more shingles than they can shake a stick at!  :)
