The rear drive shafts were removed to inspect and install new seals. Cody and I installed a new reversing switch in the backhoe, then he tested it for proper operation.

Here is the diaphram tester.

Watch it cycle here https://youtu.be/e6AG6Z3ZWw4

And the mount and part of the Hydraulic system for the tracer attachment.

Yeah, not bad for a small crew and rainy weather.

Ed and I tested my pickup to see how many bags of coal it would hold. We never reached the limit.
I think Cody is angling for a heavy machinery position. He was very focused on helping Mike. He also made sure we got some work done once Fred left. The future of our museum will be in good hands.

Cody has become Fred's assistant?

No, Cody follows his own drummer. Similar, but not Fred’s assistant. He’s an amazing and dedicated volunteer we are lucky to have with us (his Dad, Pete too!)

We need to build 3 panels, so want to gather the material needed for them. Will most likely be using rejected rail from Steves sorting.

Work done on Saturday March 26:

* Machine shop: Alan was setting up the tracer attachment to the lathe - it's the Cadillac of tracer attachments (literally - it's got the Cadillac name right on it).
* Car moving: The B&SR flanger was leaning rather precariously on muddy track, so it was moved further down the track (which involved moving some other equipment).
* Joint bars: Bryce and Dan took joint bars down the Mountain.
* Panel track: Mike, Cody, and I picked out ties and some rail for the panel track.

It's also smarter than most of us, having attended the University of California.

* Pete was organizing old newsletters in the shop upstairs.
* Ed was seen mumbling at his computer inside the Percival house, supposedly trying to get sign ups for Tie and Dine and various other upcoming train rides live on wwfry.org, Facebook, and our ticketing system.

Steve Lennox led crews recently cutting, sorting and loading these cars with rails and ties. They will be laying this track prior to work weekend, using instatrack and safety spiking, then we will be spiking and ballasting during SWW.

This is the first panel track. This is in a temporary location, and we used a couple of buckets of ballast to firm up the area to work there. Spacing between ties is 5 feet temporarily.
