Work done on Saturday, Jan 1.

* No cutting done because of a) the weather, and b) lack of volunteers.
* Dozer repair: Mike got off the parts that hold up the rollers, as well as taking out the rollers themselves.
* Boxcar 56: Marcel was working on the boxcar.
* Office work: I moved file folders around to prep for a new year for treasurer paperwork, which required some clean up of the office closet in order to have access to the filing cabinet.  Boxes and objects have been moved elsewhere, nothing was thrown out.
* Strategizing: Ed and Steve P were plotting for this year.

I'd like to thank Linda and Cindy for doing all the inventorying this year  ;D

Should we be worried?

Seriously, Ed, Steve and all involved with public event planning and execution have done a tremendous job this past year during the pandemic, along with all our volunteers and friends who have maintained, promoted and grown our Railway this past year.  Happy New Year, all!
What–me worry?

I echo Bill's remarks.  I have been continually amazed at the activities promoted, their successes, the financial gains their provided, and, equally amazing, how much has gotten accomplished on so very many projects during the past two years.  My hat's off to everyone who contributed in any way, great or small.  It took everyone.

A happy, healthy and prosperous New Year's wish to each and everyone of you.

Considering the challenges of the past year I think what the Sheepscot crew has been able to accomplish is fantastic!

Here's Brian limbing up one of the trees he and Mike brought down.

And here's Mike watching the last tree of the day come down after he and his team of 4 wedges and a bottle jack convinced it which was the direction to fall.

Cody hauled a ridiculous amount of slash to the burn pile. You'd never guess that it was in the 20s today - or that we had a snowstorm yesterday. Felt like Florida!

Fred tried to keep up with Cody, but opted for supervision after a while.

I didn't catch photos of Dave B, Zack, or James when they were working. Did I miss anyone else?

I know it's an optical illusion, but it does appear we are being very frugal by using a tree for a bumper post for a siding.   :o

I'm curious about the black pipe visible in Mike's photos.  While it has general proportions of a culvert, it appears to be 'new', and made out of steel. I'd estimate roughly 24" in diameter.  If it were for a culvert, plastic would likely be more cost effective.  So what will the steel pipe be used for?

I think that's the pipe that will be cut into sections to make smoke jacks for the engine house.

An elevated siding at that...
