Cindy had the gift shop open Wednesday afternoon.  The charter group must have enjoyed their visit, five people bought memberships.

Work done on Saturday Dec 18:

* Case dozer: Mike got the remaining track plates off, took off the right side track chain. and removed the right side sprocket.  He removed the cover to the right side spring, which was broken.  He tried to remove the rollers but couldn't get the bolt out.
* Boxcar 56: Marcel mostly finished the interior lower sheathing.

Forgot to mention...

The Chesterfield Dozer tracks were cleaned this morning, and a new canvas cover was installed on the loader. Please reinstall the cover after use to help keep the operators compartment clear of ice and snow.

Anticipated work for Saturday Dec 25:

* We don't expect anyone to show up on Christmas Day.  Instead, we hope that you're able to spend the day with loved ones.  However, if Santa puts coal in your stocking, we'll be happy to take it off your hands.

:) Gosh, there is a heck of a fundraiser!

Make coal available in the WW&F Gift Shop.*  Then Santa(s) around the country would have a ready source of coal for those ... difficult ... ::) individuals.     Some of those coal recipients might even choose to donate that coal back to the WW&F ...  8)

* I recall the Niles Canyon Railway / PLA (Fremont CA) having a "Buy a Ton of Ballast" program. It  seems unlikely that the donor actually took delivery of that ballast.

Near my previous place of residence, the Belvidere & Delaware River Railway (the "Bel-Del") has had a Buy-A-Tie program at various points in the past several years.

Any of you boys and girls who happened to get on Santa's naughty list this year, please save your coal and bring it to the Museum on your next visit.  Number 9 needs a full hopper for the new year.

May the New Year bring peace and joy for all our volunteers, their families and the many friends of our railway.

Until then, Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night.

Anticipated work for Tuesday and Wednesday 28-29 December 2021.

*  Shop work:  Vacuum brakes design/build continues
Passenger car truck rebuild to continues
Engine house pit stanchions to be completed
                       Locomotive #11 prep work continues
*  Coach #9 assembly/build continues  (Pending)
*  Engine house build to continue  (Pending)

Notes:  Just a thought for all that idle time one might have while waiting for the new year. With the expectation of a safety topic for each month, we all just might look into the Regulation Book. For starters, a good topic would be Secure from Safety, Rules #70 and #71 is always a good place to start.
