After Saturday's wind and rain storm an inspection trip would be a good idea.

Also on Tuesday 11/2 is a large K-8 school group. Extra help showing the kids around would be appreciated.

What a joy to have these kids visit today. They were all so happy and well-behaved. The younger ones in the open car sang very loudly the whole way back from ToM to SS.

I have to agree with Ben- what a pleasure.  We should make sure the school knows how much our crew enjoyed their visit.

From what I could see, the kids were all extremely eager to learn about things at the museum. And some of them were talking about attending previous events and how much fun they have had. So it is always nice to over hear different things about the smiles and joys we bring to local families, as well as the outsiders of course.

So many smiles today, and so many thank you’d. It was amazing to see and hear how the museum adapts for different school and educational groups.

Work done (at the WW&F) on Saturday Nov 6:

* Engine house - Stewart and Dwight were nailing up more wall boards, with John R filling in for Fred as supervisor.
* Boxcar 67 - Pete, Cody, Steve P and sons were painting the boxcar
* Boxcar 56 - Marcel was working on it
* Merchandise move - I moved two tractor loads of books from the second floor of the car shop to the Percival basement to the new shelving.  The boxes are very heavy, at least gravity was working with me to bring them down the stairs.

SR&RL day was well attended. At one count Fred had over 20 between the two organizations.

We had Fred M., Dave B., J.B. Smith, Rick S., Dan B, Steve Lennox, Joe L., Steve Leet, Brian W., Ken Berlo, Zack W., Leon Weeks and myself from the WW&F and their volunteers were Sharon Barber, John Stinchfield, Guy and Sonja Rouix, Scott Wilcox, Melvyn Webber, Rick Barr, Brian Donovan, Charles King, Leza Gough, Freya and Marin Hainley. I hope I remembeted everyone..

Frosty start this morning. This is what it looked like.

Their #4 is up on blocks to get new bearings in the drive axles.

Leon Weeks and I were talking and he pointed out this nest. Wax up your plows, the snow will be deep.. See it in the tree?

Getting busy. Changed a frog we installed last year. The frog was way too sharp.

Fred found a seat..

Meanwhile, work was going on inside the carbarn to get the rails out the door..

We got done puttsing with the frog and switch and moved to the Carbarn to help build toward the switch.

Oh, did I mention the food??
