Extra assistance is needed!!!
We expect to welcome 400 passengers to Sheepscot on Saturday and run seven train trips (concert pickup at 5pm) with two steam locomotives. This is our peak season for visitors. Help is needed on the trains, Sheepscot, at Top of the Mountain, and Alna Center. Please let me know (ed.lecuyer@wwfry.org) if you are available to help.

SPECIFICALLY, we need at least two people to help with parking. If this role goes unfilled, volunteers who arrive early may run the risk of getting unwittingly boxed in as the day progresses.

PLEASE PARK CONSIDERATELY.  All-day volunteers should park in what space is available in the upper/west lot and block each other in.
When starting the "2nd row" be sure to start it close and parallel to the one adjacent to the the Percival house, otherwise we will not be able to handle the anticipated traffic.

All trains are limited to 75 passengers and all tickets must be purchased in advance.
All passengers and crew must adhere to the COVID-19 Policy published at www.wwfry.org/covid
Visit www.wwfry.org/tickets to buy tickets.

PS: TWO bus tours are coming on MONDAY 10/4. Extra help giving tours would be appreciated.

Work done on Saturday Oct 2:

* Engine house: Because of the threat that the crane truck would go away next week, it was decided to use it to raise the remaining east/west walls, as they had been completed during the week.  The walls went up and it was discovered the door in the east wall was off by a few inches, so the crew fixed it.
* Coach 9: Harold was working on coach seat castings.  Alan was working on a piece for the press which will help fix the truck frames.
* Wood and ash shuttle: Pete and Cody were shuttling ashes and split wood throughout the day.

Chesterfield Associates has picked up Clancy the Crane. We had used it on several projects and was very handy. I would like to thank Davies Allan of Chesterfield Associates for allowing us to use it as much as we did.

Revised track plan:  ties will be laid out for the service and enginehouse tracks, and all 3 enginehouse leads will be constructed fully.  Track work at 218 will come later in the month and in November.

NOTE we have MAJOR parking concerns because we expect a bump in volunteers along with 5 sold out pumpkin trains.  Volunteers PLEASE park in the corner lot.  We have an agreement with the town to avoid street parking- this issue has caused some noteworthy concern within the town in the past.

Thanks,
Jason

Josh also has buried utility work planned for Saturday and Sunday so the area immediately around the turntable and electrical distribution building will be closed, as will that driveway.

Too bad, I was really looking forward to more progress on the electrical infrastructure, which is (no surprise here) one of my own pet priorities.

Safety wise it seems like a good idea to postpone it with the expected large crowd of visitors on Saturday.

It was gling to be all closed off with caution tape. Safety first. I may still put in a drain there tomorrow so a smaller area could be closed off by the tt still..

Among other things, the automatic bell ringer was repaired on 52 yesterday.
