We have had official conversations with the FRA and they have made it clear that what they value most is a close, honest relationship and that they be part of the process. There will be significant transitional concerns to our entire organization- both the FRA and our managers want to see that transition occur smoothly, over time, in advance of actually coming under their jurisdiction. Dropping a crossing in- whether connected or not- would need to be presented to the FRA as a concept- and their endorsement sought- in order to honor the spirit of our discussions with them to date.
Let’s not forget there are other relevant entities to include in such planning including the W&Q, the town, the state. Finally- as soon as the road is crossed we are facing another round of significant environmental permits.
Right now we are working hard to normalize and systemize the routine maintenance of our growing physical plant (equipment, buildings, track, etc) and attain a level of sustainability regarding the balance of operating expenses to operating income. We want to keep moving forward with our FRA relationship, and “down payments” on future potential expansion- however that needs to be concurrent with this idea of normalizing the sustainability of our operation.
Thanks,
Jason
