No moving dirt in the back lot yet. Need to fix Daves Dozer. The part is there.

Work done on Saturday Sept 4:

* Engine house: Brendan received a shipment of lumber yesterday, so spent yesterday and first thing this morning sorting and stacking it, then moved it over to next to the engine house.  Bryce and Dan were cutting I-beams for the posts for the inspection pit track.
* Passenger trucks: Zack managed to continue dismantling the passenger trucks that we were working on on Tuesday.
* Electrical: Josh was in the house and directed Alan, Nicole and myself in putting up conduit and running wire, then he and Alan started terminating.
* Weed whacking: Mike and Dwight (and maybe Fred?) did some vegetative removal along one of our roads.

Some photos from yesterday, Saturday, September 4th.

Fred sharpening tools.

A large committee helping Brendan Barry fix a lawn tractor that wouldn't start.  It was a bad battery.

Public trains were run yesterday (BB&Q & Farmstand Express) and were well attended.  A few photos at Top of Mountain.  Consist from south (right) to north:  WW&F caboose No. 320; WW&F coach No. 8;...

...W&Q coach No. 3; and Maine Locomotive & Machine open car No. 130.

SeaLyon Farm and Grandpa's Kitchen had stands at Top of Mountain, and SeaLyon offered tractor rides to the farm and back.

See the Mountain Extension and Engine House threads for other photos taken yesterday.
We want...A SHRUBBERY!  One that looks nice, and not too expensive.

That tractor repair looks like a typical Government job - one guy working and 5 supervising.  :o ::)

Everyone working at Sheepscot this week, please keep your area clean.  A major campus cleanup began today (mostly the yard & grounds) and will continue for the next few days to be ready for the Lexington Group charter on Saturday.  The last phase will be cleaning the shop building on Thursday / Friday.  There will be 200 people touring the shop and other buildings on Saturday.

Piggybacking on what Stewart said, please "hide" any modern conveniences in "historic" areas, such as the railyard, Sheepscot station, platform area, etc. The car barn exhibit hall should be as tidy as possible (a good amount of clean-up was done in there today - but there could always be more done.)

Identify and remove tripping hazards (loose wood, cribbing, random pieces of scrap steel), especially in the railyard and along the public pathways.

And, of course, the (public) bathrooms - if you notice something isn't as it should be in there, please either deal with it, or alert someone who can.

Finally, this clean-up sets the stage for our "busy season" which starts on 9/25. TWO trains will be running every Saturday with hourly departures 11am - 5pm.

Thanks all!

We should be practicing this every day. A neat work place is a safe work place.
