I also found these marks, ready for cutting. This is beyond the weld because Edaville also changed the outer ring. Cutting the turntable back to the original length would complicate the modifications.

The marks are for cutting.  They are equal radius dimensions from the center of the pivot pin.  Steve L. and I measured these out this spring and I marked them for Jason to cut.

How did we happen to acquired this turntable? Doesn't Edaville still use a turntable?

Will the planks be added as they were in the pic of the B&S location?

To be clear the wheel support radius would have to be changed if it were
to be put back at original location & TT length?

As long as there is room where it is going and locos fit all is good. :-)

It belongs to MNGRR. We worked out an agreement with them to use it. As part of the agreement, any modifications we make, including modifying the length, needs to be undone if they want it back. They had hoped they could use it to turn coaches to even out wheel and weather wear on their cars, but there is no room for it there.

Don't know the exact dimensions, but it'll be long enough to fit any locomotive put on it (probably). The extensions were put on so that passenger cars could fit comfortably on it.

Final length of rail on turntable will be 31’.  Turntable center will be 228’ from Center of RR/ Rt218 crossing.  Length is limited by desire to avoid encroaching on the hillside to the west of the turntable location..

Thanks,
Jason

Today four new trackside flag holders were completed.  I want to put a coat of white paint over the primer before I declare them finished.  They are the same as the four I brought up about 8 or 10 years ago.  They will arrive for the FWW.

XVII 122. Out of Service Track in Effect (Working Limits)
i. Fixed Red flags placed at both ends of the Out of Service Track segment.
ii.Fixed Yellow flags placed preceding the red flags a sufficient distance to provide ample warning to approaching trains, unless within Yard Limits and not on the Main Track.

A few photos of the south-of-mile post 7 track work, led by Stephen Lennox Tuesday.  Chuck B. helped load track tools before we left Sheepscot around 9.30 a.m.

Steve Leet talks with Brian Whitney aboard Big Joe as they prepare the tamper for service at Top of Mountain.

Big Joe is positioned by Brian and Steve Lennox at MP7 as tamping work is about to start following lifting and leveling of joints south.

Steve Leet and Brian shovel stone as the tamper, operated by Steve Lennox, tamps ties south of a lifted joint.  Progression was south-to-north at each lifted joint.

Tree saplings close to the track were also cut during Tuesday's work.

Hallelujah!  I'm looking forward to having the crew lift joints at Albee's Field (I think those are arguably worse than the ones at MP 7).
