Movie about #9: "The Nine Lives of #9"

The Thompson (CT) Historical Society has created a movie about Locomotive 9, "The Nine Lives of #9", and is debuting soon.  Here's the info:

Movie Premiere: The 9 Lives of Engine #9
Saturday, August 14, 2021 at1:15 p.m. EDT
Thompson, Connecticut, Public School Auditorium

Join us for the fascinating story of little Engine #9 that was brought from Wiscasset, Maine to Frank Ramsdell's West Thompson farm in 1937. Find out what happened in this 55 minute movie. Showings will be held at 1:15 pm and 2:45 pm. Tickets are free but seating is limited and reservations are required. To reserve your tickets please contact Ginny at 860-933-5239 by call or text or email her atgfloodster@gmail.com. Please indicate which show you want to attend and also the number of tickets. Six ticket limit per family please. No - I can't stand Massachusetts interstate traffic on the weekends.

The weekends it's not super bad, and you're against the major traffic flows if you're coming from Maine. You just have to have a little luck on 495 but once you're past 93 you're smooth sailing all the way to Conn.

Possibly, but then again my (pre pandemic) commute goes from a 20 minute drive each way on Fridays to a 45-60 drive on Mon-Thurs.

BTW, the northeast corner of CT is a lovely place. I'm not sure if the Ramsdell Farm isn't underwater, though?

Putnam has some nice restaurants and shops, the P&W goes through,  Woodstock is a pretty town, the roads are good, and the scenery is, well, scenic. Further to the south Foxwoods can be entertaining in many ways.  :P
Bill's Bread and Breakfast on Providence Street  in Putnam has wonderful muffins and breakfast until 1PM.
Worcester also has some very good restaurants, a new ballpark, a BIG train station, and CSX intermodal yard.

If you go early and come back on late Saturday, the traffic will be heavy but 'should' not be too bad.

I may try to go. It would be nice if a couple of museum members could show up.

I was thinking Putnam was closer to Providence, so that I'd have to take I-95 all the way.  While 495 is a horror show between Lawrence and Route 2, it's not bad past that.  I have family in Worcester area, so I'm somewhat familiar with it all.

Is there any chance of a follow up screening up here? Would be a fun evening event - ride to AC for dinner and outdoor movie. Sort of a Narrow Gauge Drive In. Does #9's generator produce enough current to power something like that?

No, but we've used a small Honda generator at our AC concerts.

More a question of voltage. The generator puts out 32 Volts DC.

For many events at AC, a 12V battery along with a converter to 120VAC would be a good solution. Modern projectors and PA systems don't use that many watts.

How about the question of a Maine showing of the film? (A question that really should have been filed under "Asking the Obvious")
Where it happens and how it's powered are secondary details. I'm happy to inquire, but someone has probably been working on that for weeks.
