Revenue producing idea

The Wilmington & Western Railroad in Delaware offers a pixies & pirates train for the younger ones.  They also had a princess special last year and my Goddaughter's daughter loved it.

There was a push in 2019 to put in more special branded services, a lot of which I believe had\have plans to continue in the future.

One that comes to mind off the top of my head was the Mother's day tea trains. Not sure they can run this year but will probably make a comeback next year. My understanding is that was well attended.

More evening services made an appearance in that timeframe, too. Evening trains were a big hit last year (as well as ice-cream based trains the same days in the earlier hours).

Last year and this one I think there's been a concentrated effort to do more things involving SeaLyon farm, including the pumpkin and sleigh trains, with more ideas either proposed or in the works.

Always good business to have specials as it brings people back for something other than just the train ride.

I believe with the initial construction of the pavilion, now complete, that more specials utilizing that venue shall become favorites in the future.  The adoption of insect screens (at minimum), would allow for different food-related events to happen.  I am still very keen on building a BBQ pit at the pavilion site to support not only our annual picnic, SWW & FWW, and other member events but the broader special events calendar.   For example - BBQ & Concert, or as Bill mentioned a Mother's day Tea & Cakes/Scones with the little ones.

We can get by early on with Porta-Pots, but one must race the reality of having to build restrooms in the future as the business expands to support it.  But at a bare minimum, I would suggest holding a member's weekend in the Fall in conjunction with FWW and have our dinner and meeting in Alna Center.

We could also present both the 20 and 21 Percival Awards at such an event!
