The camera is not new at all. Its the same camera I've had for many, many years.

What was new this time was:
- How I positioned it (slightly better so to get more the table.
- HIGH SPEED INTERNET at SHEEPSCOT!!! No more bandwidth problems!

That said, I really would like to get a dedicated cam for the Percival House so I don't have to keep bringing mine to every BOD meeting (then hooking it back up for work.) But its a minor inconvenience.

The WW&F's many friends and followers from far and not-too-far away have stepped up to the plate. THREE individuals pooled together to fund a complete webcam and microphone setup for exclusive use in the Percival House for livestreaming the BOD meetings!

That's terrific Ed, with as much as you do, getting a better cam setup that's also less work for you is great.

Do I assume that we can install this "permanently" in Percival House, or might we find other uses for it to livestream events around the campus??

My intent is to set up the camera and microphone "permanently".

Part of the issue with the current set up is that the only perch available for a temporary camera does not provide a wide enough angle to cover the whole BOD table. Cable length is also a consideration - which limits where I can place my laptop, etc. I'm hoping these will be solved by mounting the camera and cabling in an appropriate manner.

For other events on-campus, we can still use my camera if necessary - or even get another, the camera alone is only $25. We've only done a small handful of livestream events, due to the poor Internet access. With that resolved, we can hopefully expand this - at least within wifi range on the Sheepscot grounds.

Perhaps the rules review and any future operational safety meetings would fit into this plan.  These could be broadcast live like the BOD meetings when they occur and also recorded so folks who had schedule conflicts and/or new members wanting to learn can watch them at a later time.

We are looking for a camera and microphone that work on 32VDC from a steam turbo.

A typical webcam is powered by the laptop USB port that it is plugged into. So without adding any other equipment, the webcam has power as long as the laptop battery holds out.

 If you really want to charge the laptop battery from a 32VDC turbo, choose a laptop that has an available 12VDC (car) charger accessory  and use a 32V DC-DC Buck converter to step that down to 12V. Here is one that is a bit overkill, but could easily power a laptop & webcam:

Note that one is likely to lose a viable WiFi signal before getting too far out of the Sheepscot  yard area.

Not sure what Mike has planned..

Mike isn't sure what he has planned. I would like to do a little surveying at some point, and perhaps could use help doing that I suppose. I would also like to work on Freds pickup, or at least look at it. And I am sure there are other things to look at. I was going to work on the forklift, but the parts that were ordered and arrived at the museum have been misplaced.

Perhaps there should be box or bin in some central location for such items to be dropped so that things don’t get misplaced?

That may help, but the table makes a nice bin. We have started including names on packages of who ordered but they still get opened by others. Getting rather frustrating. How can you claim you did not get your whole order if you did not open it?

    conducted with everything functioning properly.  (Steve L and Brian W)

Wednesday:

*  Fire wood prep and storage (Fred and Randy)

*  Machine shop window trim painting (Stewart)

I will be there on Saturday. I need to change one more filter on Big Joe. It should only take a few minutes. The hydraulic fluid on the forklift was frozen on Tuesday. There must be water in the system That should be changed along with filters to prevent damage to the pump. I'll be available for whatever needs doing.
