WW&F Visa Cards
« on: January 05, 2009, 05:39:39 PM »
Steve;
  I note that the MCRR uses branded Visa cards to raise money for their Museum. I don't know about you, but I would love to whip out a Visa card with #9 or #10 in the snow on the trestle. Perhaps this should be looked into.

Now if we could just get Head Tide National Bank to issue them, we would be in great shape.
Seriously though, I thought the same thing when I followed the link. If nothing else, get a creditcard that lets you choose the picture and do it yourself. And if it makes you feel better, use that card while you are at the museum, or to donate through Paypal.

Our group has a button on our web page for Amazon.com.  If that link is used to make make a purchase, then we receive a percentage.  There are other "buy" sites that offer the same sort of "partnership" deal.  It may be worth looking into.  We all use these sites to buy books, DVD's, electronics, tools, etc.  A few extra bucks for the bottom line can't hurt.

I hope if someone is buying books or DVDs it is through the museum store.

Oh, of course I meant items that are not sold in our store.  Some of us read fiction books and Maine Two- Footer history is non-fiction.  Don't kill a Golden Goose, even if it only lays pullet size eggs.  I believe eBay has a partnership deal and all of us use eBay.  It would be nice to get a kick-back from each eBay transaction via our web site.  Remember, "Never look a gift horse in the mouth".
